Feline Inspection

Log Cabin 4

I would block each square by itself to make sure they are all the same size and shape.

It's looking beautiful!

And how are you attaching the squares to each other? Inquiring minds want to know, because I'm closing in on the final knitting of a 49 square afghan and pretty soon I have to figure out what to do next!

Good question. I'm doing a kind of mattress stitch when I've got the two cast-off edges meeting -- if you adjust the tension right, then you can get a slight seam along the back, but a nice finished edge on the front.

Where a cast-off edge meets a garter-edge selvedge, I'm using a technique out of Nancie Wiseman's book on finishing techniques -- check out page 68 on garter edge seams.

I'll try to post some photos in my next post!
